This is ESPECIALLY true in light of all the challenges due to Covid -19.
Many of you experienced shortened student teaching experiences and did not get a chance to fully experience running a classroom.
You've been well trained in your teacher -ed. programs, but many of you are nervous about your lack of day -to -day classroom experience.
You will be entering teaching during one of the most challenging times in this or any century.
That's why we created this program. We want to make sure that whatever you experienced during student teaching, you have the support you need as you begin your career.
There are many things you need to do before the school year even begins. We will give you step-by-step plans so that you can everything you need in place and be confident that you are ready to start school, whether in person or virtually, this fall.

How does it work?
We'll e-mail you everything you need to complete the workshop.
We'll meet with you live in Zoom for two 3 hour Zoom sessions. Don't worry, we promise not to bore you with lots of slides and lectures! Our instruction is active and you will have time to do tasks and discuss in small groups.
Zoom session dates are May 27 9-12 and 1-4 (CDT)

June 1 5-8 P.M. and June 3 5-8 P.M. (CDT)
Then you will have 24/7 access to Start Your School Year Strong a mini course with templates, checklists and guides for you to follow as you set up your classroom and create your procedures and systems.
We'll give you guidance and feedback both in the Zoom sessions and later, in the mini course, and, you will have access to the course for an entire year.

The virtual workshop is live via Zoom for six hours, which is broken into two parts. We will break up the Zoom time with plenty of activities and discussions.
The Zoom sessions will be recorded, so that if you can't attend in person you can watch the videos.
